See Petroglyphs in Tucson
Explore The Butte at Cocoraque Ranch and see the historic petroglyphs. Many of the petroglyphs are craved into the butte on cliffs and boulders. At the Cocoraque Butte there is an combination of flowers, butterflies, and bird petroglyphs to be seen. There are additionally Bell Rocks at the site – rocks struck for their sound – situated close to the petroglyphs. You will see mortar gaps cut into the stone stream bed where townspeople ground mesquite beans into flour.
